Townes Van Zandt - Our Mother The Mountain LP (Fat Possum Reissue, 2011)

Reissue of Townes' classic 1969 LP, arguably the finest studio work in his cannon.  The string-laden arrangments of "Kathleen", "St. John The Gambler" actually enhance the Townes' heartbreaking American poetry, rather than detract from it's intimacy.  If you've heard the stripped-back bar-room magic of "Live At The Old Quarter" and are ready to step into Townes' messy album discography, "Our Mother The Mountain" is arguably the best place to start.  Highly recommended!

Condition(I grade NM/EX/VG+/VG/VG-/G/F)

Sleeve– EX Still in it's shrink with no issues.  

Record– VG+ I bought the record from new and i've looked after it.There are a few storage scuffs and hairlines, but these don't affect play at all. However, the surface, under strong light, shows up marks/residue from the manufacturing process,  These maybe are responsible for a light, though not displeasing crackle.  I think this record could do with a deep clean (I don't have the facilities).  Otherwise, sounds fine.
