Joe Turner - 'Presenting Joe Turner'
Format - 7" EP
Label & Cat # - London (RE-E 1111)
Condition - Near Mint to Mint
Country and year of issue - UK 1957
This E.P. is in incredible condition. It belonged to someone who bought it, thinking it was the other Joe Turner (the jazz pianist). He would have played it once and then put it away in a box for 50 odd years.
You find the odd Perry Coma, or Mantovani EP in this condition, but never something like the Joe Turner EP. It's hard enough to find it bashed up in a ripped and tatty sleeve, but in this shape? Never!
Rock N Roll E.P.s were played by grubby teenagers on grubby record players who scrawled their names across the label, so no one would nick it at a party or the youth club. That's how it was.
Big Joe Turner's up there with the best, which is why his records are sought after. He doesn't go out of fashion.
