Elvis Presley - S/T LP (Music On Vinyl/Sony, HOL/EU, 2009)
Reissue of 1956 Debut LP with bonus tracks.

A reissue of sorts - containing the original RCA LP plus six bonus tracks from singles(The first two tracks / last 4 tracks).  It's therefore handy if not a historically faithful replica - nice to have stuff like "Heartbreak Hotel", "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" all in one place.  The music here, is absolutely essential, historical stuff, presented in excellent sound.  For some bizarre reason, this LP has been lumbered with an orange RCA stereo label - which is totally inappropriate for this period of Elvis - and I can assure you all the music here is in MONO not fake stereo.  A great affordable way for a general fan or neophyte to get this classic material on vinyl, if you are not picky about analog / digital (this is cut from the 1999 remasters).  Music On Vinyl are, from my experience, when of the better new vinyl companies out there when it comes to quality control.  


Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)

Sleeve - (CONDITION) EX - Still looks almost new, except for signs of storage.  Some rubbbing to the front and a bit of corner wear. 

Record - (CONDITION) EX - Looks great, though does have a few scuffs and light hairlines, which you can only really see under strong light.  Very slight storage warp.  Could do with a dust / thorough clean.  Plays excellently with stunning sound.  There is a bit of crackle here and there.  I did detect two pops at the beginning of "Blue Moon" - but couldn't detect what caused them - and they didn't seriously impinge on my musical enjoyment. 

Who wants this?  As i have said - this is absolutely essential music.  This is a used copy in excellent condition, but not mint.  A great way for a neophyte to enjoy prime early Elvis on vinyl, or for an older fan to have a new playing copy at hand so they can give their HMV's/50s RCAs a bit of a rest.  It's also in mono, which is nice as many of the older reissues were stereo processed and sounded awful!
