Welcome to 2014 and the latest selection from the Outta Sight Rhythm & Blues archive featuring more killer R&B action.

First up is LaBrenda Ben with her debut Motown recording from April 1962. It was originally issued on Motown M-1033 of which only a handful exist today. The original ‘B’ side, “Camel Walk”, was actually recorded earlier by Saundra Mallett & The Vandellas, the better and rarer version of the song, which we feature here.

Next up we feature two in demand sides from Smokey Robinson’s Miracles. “If Your Mother Only Knew” was originally a flop 45 from the album I’ll Try Something New, but now, 50 years on it has finally earned the respect it deserves. “That’s The Way I Feel” has previously only been available on the LP Cookin’ With The Miracles.

Finally we present a couple of real classics by the legendary Jimmy Ruffin and Lamont Dozier back-to-back for the first time.
