Probably the pre-eminent violinist of our time, Itzhak Perlman is known for his brilliant technique, direct interpretation and precision. Perlman’s recordings include not only all standard violin repertoires but those of contemporary composers. He has appeared with every major orchestra in the world, showcasing his talent at music festivals, recitals, and concerts around the world. Perlman was only 26 when he made these recordings for EMI but went on to make over 70 recordings with the company.

In the original 1972 review MH of the GRAMOPHONE wrote:
“... it is an exhilarating experience to hear Perlman in these still hair-raisingly difficult works. The battle of technique, it seems, has been won and left far behind, hut there is never any suggestion of undue facility, of skating over the music’s surface and robbing it of its real impact ... Similar comments apply to Perlman’s splendid account of the D major Concerto ... “
