VINYL RECORD COLLECTION
I AM FINALLY GETTING RID OF MY VINYL ALBUM, EP’S, 12” and 7” SINGLE COLLECTION THAT COVERS THE PERIOD FROM MID 1960’S TO THE END OF THE 90’S. THERE ARE AROUND 600 RECORDS MAINLY 12” LP’S
I AM PUTTING THEM IN BLOCKS OR LOTS TO TRY AND CO-ORDINATE THE DIFFERENT STYLES OF MUSIC THAT I HAVE COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS.
THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE ALBUMS AND 12” SINGLES HAVE ONLY BEEN PLAYED ON GOOD QUALITY HIFI (Fons, SME, Ortofon) AND MANY OF THE COVERS HAVE BEEN KEPT IN PLASTIC COVERS OR BAGS. STORAGE HAS ALWAYS BEEN UPRIGHT AND INDOORS…NOT LEFT IN THE GARAGE! MOST HAVE HAD ONLY LIMITED PLAY OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS APART FROM DIGITALISING THEM TO STORE ON HARD DRIVE AND ACCESS THROUGH A STREAMER…THEY DO SOUND REALLY GOOD!
ALL ARE IN AT LEAST ‘GOOD+ ‘CONDITION AND THE MAJORITY OF THE LP’S ARE ‘VERY GOOD’ TO ‘EXCELLENT’ UNLESS COMMENTED UPON. THE 7” SINGLES ARE MAINLY IN AVERAGE TO GOOD CONDITION DEPENDING ON THEIR AGE, BUT ALL ARE PLAYABLE ALTHOUGH MAY HAVE THE BACKGROUND VINYL CRACKLE…HEY THEY ARE 45 RPM SINGLES!
HAPPY FOR PEOPLE TO COLLECT OR THE COLLECTION WILL BE SECURELY PACKAGED AND I WILL ARRANGE COURIER FOR THE LOT/LOTS THAT ARE PURCHASED AT BUYERS EXPENSE. I WILL TRY AND GET AS EXTIMATE ON THE COST OF p&p FOR EACH OF THE LOTS AND ADD IN TO THE ADVERT.
FOR GENUINE BIDDERS/BUYERS I AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE PHOTOS OF SLEEVES, LABELS AND ANY MATRIX NUMBERS THAT ARE REQUIRED, PLEASE ASK…BUT NOT FOR THE WHOLE LOT!!!

Lot 5 – Acid Rock and Psychadelia – from ‘ Up against the Wall Mother****ers’ to ‘Wow Man what was that!’
A collection of records from the early San Francisco bands in the mid 1960’s through the psychedelic noodlings of the Grateful Dead to some of the UK and European responses to the first hits of dope and mind altering substances, not much here after the end of the 1970’ although the influence on the new psychedelia of today is all here! It’s the sort of music that got played at parties with all the lights out, the joss ticks burning and no one dancing…man!
Full list below of LP’s and singles but worthy of a mention are:
· Quicksilver Messenger Service – QMS First album by San Francisco guitar freakers, extended pieces mixed with shorter trad songs.
· Jefferson Airplane/ Starship – The first offshoot from the Airplane to the Starship, lets all escape into space, yea man lets! But great playing by a cast of the Airplane and other Frisko stars.
· Shel Silverstein – Playboy Cartoonist and writer for Dr Hook, sounds like a drunked stoned session, great tracks like Polly in a Porny; Don’t give a dose to the one you love most and I got stoned and I missed it.
· Steve Hillage – Live Herald, the Gong guitar player stretches out on double live album before he moved into Dance production!
Glastonbury Fayre 1971 - yes that triple album...no cover or inserts though, vinyl is in inner sleeves; one album is probably poor to fair condition, but the live ones are generally good although bootleg quality as they were originally in '71.

· Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
· " The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
· The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
· The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
· The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
· The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
· The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
· The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
· As well as the above grades, is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
