*** Visual GRADING Scale (based on Goldmine) ***

Mint (M)
A Mint record and cover are absolutely perfect in every way. The record has never been played.

Near Mint (NM or M-)
A Near Mint record is nearly perfect. The record may have been played, and a very minor scuff may appear on the vinyl, but the record does not show no any other visible defects. The record label does not have writing, stickers, "spindle marks" around the center hole, or other markings. Basically, a record in Near Mint condition looks like it just came from a retail store and the record was just opened. The cover may have barely noticeable impressions from the record inside (i.e., ring wear), but it has no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other similar defects.

Very Good Plus (VG+), Excellent (EX)
A Very Good Plus or, slightly better, Excellent record may show some slight signs of wear, including slight scuffs, very light scratches, or slight warps. The record label may have very small writing or stickers, or slight "spindle marks" around the center hole, but the center hole will not be misshapen. The cover may also have slight creases, folds, ring wear, seam wear or a very minor seam split, very small writing or stickers, a cut-out hole, cut corner, or indentation, or other slight signs of general wear or handling. Basically, the record and cover have been taken care of and would be close to Near Mint except for a couple minor defects.

Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in a Very Good Plus record may be more pronounced and visibly obvious in a Very Good record. Groove wear on the vinyl may be noticeable, along with light scratches that are deep enough to feel with a fingernail. The record label or cover may have more obvious writing, tape, stickers, or residue from tape or stickers. The cover may have more obvious or more numerous creases, folds, ring wear, or seam splits.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)
A Good or, slightly better, a Good Plus record may have significantly visible scratches and groove wear. The record label or cover may have heavy writing, tape, stickers, or residue from tape or stickers that are starting to overwhelm it. The cover may have heavy ring wear and significantly obvious seam splits.

Poor (P), Fair (F)
A Poor or, slightly better, Fair record may be cracked, broken, or very badly warped. The cover may be water-damaged, significantly split on all three seams, and heavily marred by wear and handling. The cover may barely keep the record inside it.
