This auction is for a copy of the 33-1/3 RPM vinyl album “We Found It In The Trashcan, Honest! - The Boston Demo Tapes”. Per the “liner notes” from the taped-on front cover: “During the summer of 1975 Tom Scholz recorded the songs on this album. They were all recorded at his 24-track ‘home built’ basement studio. These same tracks were later used as audition tapes for the group BOSTON. When Tom Scholz and his band later signed with their current label, all of the songs were re-recorded for their first album. The difference between these demo versions and the final takes are sometimes subtle and sometimes obvious. For example, several of the songs have now been re-titled, with verses added and dropped. One song has never been released at all! The value of these recordings to the collector is obvious and we take great pride in presenting them.” Side One: Rock N Roll Band/Life Isn’t Easy (Something About You)/More Than A Feeling. Side Two: Don’t Be Afraid Of Love/Peace Of Mind/San Francisco Day (Hitch A Ride). Bottom left of taped-on front cover reads “STEREO – BOSS 1” and “Made in France”. Record label reads “Ruthless Rhymes, Ltd.” and “1971 Deutschland” and “An Original First Pressing – Made In Germany” plus text in German which you can read in the pictures. As noted, the cover is actually a taped-on photo with text, and the upper left corner has come free of the tape and there are a couple of tears. Jacket intact (no splits) but has ringwear and spotting. Plain paper sleeve with browning. Visual grading only on the vinyl, as I no longer have access to a phonograph. I’m the original owner and I can honestly say this was played maybe twice in the last 40 plus years, so any marks on the vinyl are the way it came. The usual dusting on an album that hasn’t seen the light of day in some time and a couple of stray hairs – I don’t have a proper cleaner so won’t even try to tidy up. No scratches – a few lines that may or may not disappear with cleaning, not scuffs, because this album was well taken care of. Small discolorations that may be in the vinyl itself.
