Offered here is rare 1976 reissue of field recordings by Huddie Ledbetter for the Library Of Congress. Recorded by folklorist Alan Lomax and his father at Angola State Prison 1923 and 1924 prior to his 1925 pardon and release by Louisiana State Governor Pat Neff, These seminal recordings are in many ways the foundation of modern rock and roll. The three-LP set is accompanied by a fascinating booklet annotated by Lawrence Cohn. One more bonus: The winning bidder of this set also gets an inside box cover that was personally signed for me in 1997 by Mr. Lomax during an afternoon visit to his home in Florida. LPs are VG+, maybe better. Box has some taped corners, but is in otherwise solid condition. Good luck and happy bidding!
