RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS ( PLUS SOME ADDED IN-BETWEEN GRADES FOR MORE ACCURACY)
MINT (M) : Never been played or item still sealed. Cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster (ie contents) are in perfect condition. ( very rarely if ever use)
NEAR MINT (NM) : In brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover and contents nearly perfect. ( for records i brought from new and know ive only played a couple of times.
EXCELLENT + (EX+) : still in perfect playing condition, but have been played more than the near mint records.
EXCELLENT (EX) : Shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents might have slight wear and/or creasing. ( for records that may have the odd very light mark that doesn't effect play)
VERY GOOD + (VG+) : Obviously been played but no significant deterioration in sound quality despite light surface marks. Very little wear and tear on cover and contents, without any major defects. (more marked than excellent but still plays great with the odd tick)
VERY GOOD (VG) : Obviously been played many times but no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Audible ticks and clicks. Normal wear and tear on cover or contents, without any major defects.( the marks on vinyl cause some noise, ticks and clicks)
GOOD (G) : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc (lots of noise throughout)
