Review: Review: The very first Direct To Disc album by Lincoln Mayorga (Sheffield S-9). Recorded in 1968 as an experiment and released in only quantities of 1000 which is why it is so RARE today.

Originally sent out to Stereo stores, the record was an immediate hit as a demo record because nobody had ever made a recording that was this dynamic before. It is, quite literally, the VERY FIRST modern audiophile recording.  It opened the door to what would become a cottage "audiophile" industry: Direct Disc, Half Speed, DBX and digital recordings. It is truly a piece of music history.
