Big Country who completed a very successful comeback year in 2011 which saw them complete two sold-out UK tours and make high profile appearances at The Isle of Wight Festival, T in The Park, Oxygen and V Festivals plus, reunite with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite (who produced their first two multi platinum albums) for the first time in 27 years are back. Big Country are a BIG band. Still hero worshipped by fans today and an ever present on front covers of NME, Melody Maker & Smash Hits & always on TV and radio in the 80s. And in this new era there has been extensive coverage in Classic Rock (8 pages) Mojo (6 pages) and had features in The Guardian, Daily Mail and the now defunct News of the World. The band also were featured on BBC Breakfast last month. Many a journalist when originally released in 1999 described Driving to Damascus as their best since the debut album, 'The Crossing' (which sold over 2 million). Fragile Thing (feat: Eddie Reader) was a radio hit (14 weeks Radio 2 playlist). Two songs on the album were co-written by Kinks legend Ray Davies. All 7 of Big Countrys 8 studio albums have been released on vinyl but not this albumuntil now. It is a two disc set with a gatefold sleeve and includes a 4/4 col 626 x 622 poster . Disc one is the original album and disc two contains bonus tracks taken from the American version of this release 'John Waynes Dream' and a web only album recorded live as a promotional cd at the time with a limited amount sold to fans via the bands website in 1999. These tracks include two Top Ten hits 'Chance' & 'Look Away'. A must for all Big Country completists and for those new seeing them for the first times at the six major UK festivals the new line up are performing at this year and last.
