Hi, I am a private collector selling part of my collection.
I will use visual and audio gratings. I have been a collector for many years and know how disappointing it is to receive a record that has not been properly graded. I hope to be very accurate as regards the audio as well as giving details of any hairlines/scratches on the vinyl. I will use the Record Collector Grading System and supplement this with additional information.  Every record is play tested on my Linn LP12. In the unlikely event that you are not happy with a purchase i offer a 'Returns Accepted' guarantee. (Buyer pays return postage). I will post worldwide and intend to only charge what it costs to package and post the item to the address.  Please wait for my invoice or contact me in advance of bidding.  All records will be posted in proper secure record mailers with the record separated from the cover and using cardboard stiffeners for extra security. Thank you
The record for sale is the first UK pressing of 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd released on the 30th November 1979. The catalog number is SHDW 411 The matrix numbers are Side one:    SHSP 4111 A-2U Side two:    SHSP 4111 B-2U Side three: SHSP 4112 A-4U Side four:   SHSP 4112 B-3U
I have always found this album notorious for pressing problems. I have spent many years buying multiple copies trying to find the perfect sound. Sometimes the record can look great but delivers terrible sound quality.  I would never go by how this record looks visually in accessing what it may sound like.
I have played the album in its entirety on my Linn LP12 and my accessment of the four sides is as follows.
Side 1 plays great. There are a few light ticks audible in the more quiet sections but nothing that impaired on the overall sound. I would grade side 1 as EXCELLENT + Side 2 is very difficult to get in Mint condition as there are many soft/quiet sections on this side. I would grade side 2 as EXCELLENT. There is again some light ticks/crackle noticeable in the quiet sections. This is more apparent  on 'One of my Turns' (though not really that bad). The following track 'Don't leave me now' has  some light ticks/crackle and a couple of light 'pops'.Overall the sound quality is great with no deteriation. Side 3 plays superb. For the most part it plays near mint but I will grade it EXCELLENT + . There are some light ticks in places. Side 4 plays superb. There are some light ticks near the very end of this side but overall it deserves a NEAR MINT grade.
Visually in normal light there is nothing to fault. In strong light there are the usual sleeve removal lines and a few handling surface hairlines. The original cardboard inners are unsuitable for holding the records as they are too harsh a surface. I will place the vinyls in new Mobile fidelity anti static inner sleeves. The labels show possibly 3 to 4 spindle traces and on some labels it is difficult to see any spindle marking. The actual spindle hole for both these records is quite tight possibly through lack of play.
The first issue cream coloured cover is in beautiful condition. There are two versions of this first issue cover and I would refer you to 'Pinkfloydarchives'  On Version 1 the cover is made from a single sheet of wraparound cardboard with the seam along the inner top edge of the cover. This is Version 2 and in my experience much rarer than Version 1. The cover is made of 2 sheets of cardboard with seams at the top and bottom of the cover. Both these covers are positively first issue covers. All the text inside is exactly the same. Inside the cover it states 'Words and Music Roger Waters' (see photo 7). There is the lightest of handling signs and a small barely noticeable scuff near the front bottom right edge. There is also the tiniest little corner bruise on the opening bottom front edge. The inside of the gatefold and the spine is perfect (see photos). I will grade the cover as EXCELLENT + The heavy cardboard inner sleeves with rounded corners and a 9'' thumb notch at the top are both very clean with little to fault. They grade NEAR MINT.
As I said this is a very difficult album to get in perfect playing condition which is why I gave an audio accessment of all four sides and because of this I am sure the winning bidder will not be disappointed.
