I am finally thinning out my massive music collection. I have about 12 to 13,000 records and about 3000 CD’s to go through, so there will be a wide variety of artists, genres and labels. I do this as I have the time, so I’ll do the best I can to keep things posted for sale. If you are looking for specific items, please message me and I’ll see if I have it. There will be everything from fairly common records and CD’s to rare and audiophile releases. There will also be a range of conditions, from sealed copies, to duplicates and copies I’ve upgraded from. Please check back and feel free to ask any questions you like.
There will be many labels including Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs / MFSL, Audio Fidelity, DCC, UHQR, Island Pink Label, Sweet Thunder, RCA Shaded Dog, Classic Records, Analogue Productions, Deutsche Grammofon, Philips and others… I have lots of gold CD’s, West German Target CD’s, Japan pressed CD’s Japan pressed LP’s, Japan Target CD’s, test pressings, etc.
I am a pretty fussy collector and I play my records on decent equipment. Of course, some records I’ve bought used so I have no control over what kind of equipment they were played on before I got them. As my two main turntables, I use a Kenwood KD 770D with an Ortofon OM40 Super cartridge. A Sansui SR-929 turntable, with a Shure MKIV MkIV cartridge. I am still using vintage tables… I’m considering selling the old tables in favor of a new VPI, Rega, Clearaudio or something like that, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. My other two “main” tables are a Dual CS-5000 and a Thorens TD-145. I keep good styli on the cartridges.
Not that it matters to the condition or care of the vinyl, but my main system is the Kenwood 770-D with B&W 803-D’s, a McIntosh MC-352 amplifier, with a C-2200 McIntosh pre-amp. The other system consists of a McIntosh C-220 pre-amp, Parasound HCA-2200 MkII amplifier and Magnepan model 3.6 speakers with a Velodyne DD-15 subwoofer. My two CD players are a McIntosh MVP-871 and a Marantz DV-7001, with a couple of nicer Harman Kardon players as back-up.
I’m putting together a third system which will use the Dual CS-5000 or the Thorens 145 (probably the Thorens) with a C-22 McIntosh pre-amp, MC-275 power amp and a pair of JBL L-166’s.
If you are still reading this, you might be as weird as me… Thanks for looking!
Vinyl is visually graded unless specified. Thanks!
