Up for grabs. A first press US copy of Beefhearts 3rd album Trout Mask Replica. STS 1053.

Gatefold sleeve in vg+++ condition. Original copies of this album tend to have a lot of ring wear on the cover. This copy does have some but is one of the better examples I’ve seen. There is some corner wear which I’ve done my best to show in the pics. Sleeve is also hole punched. Not sure why this is so with some US records from the period. Other than that this is a pretty good gatefold. Really sturdy card.

The spine is strong with clear legible text.

The fold out lyric sheet is in vg+++ condition, some finger creasing and the name Moore written at the top of one of the panels. No rips or tears.

Comes with the original Straight Records inner sleeves, these are neatly taped where they’ve split at the seams and also like the cover are hole punched but otherwise look great.

The labels are auto coupled. Side 1 and 4 on one vinyl, sides 2 and 3 on the second. There are barely any spindle marks although Side 1 and side 4 have the name Moore written on them otherwise in ex condition.

Both vinyls are clean and glossy, really nice and play through with almost no surface noise. I think it would be hard to improve on these. Ex.
