Holy Diver is the debut album of the heavy metal band Dio. Released on May 25, 1983, it has been named by the music critic as the best work of Dio and a classic of the genre. It was certified Gold in the United States in 1984 and Platinum in 1989. The album was remastered in the year 2005.
The cover caused some controversy, showing what appears to be a monster killing a Catholic priest. In that image the demon has in one hand the famous gesture of the cornuta hand popularized by Dio from the Heaven and Hell tour with Black Sabbath. (Wikipedia)
