YES ~ Close To The Edge. UK 1st press Atlantic K50012. 1972
 
Very rare original 1st pressing of Close To The Edge with textured sleeve and most importantly, A1 B1 matrix, which are very hard to find. This copy is in an average condition but offered as an extremely hard to find A1 B1 pressing.
 
Grading: -
 
Outer Sleeve: VG-
 
The first press textured gatefold sleeve is in VG- condition.  Overall it doesn’t display any major damage but has seen plenty of use over the years. There is some general wear on the front cover including a small area where a price sticker has been removed just to the left of the logo.  The spine has moderate wear and has rubbed in several places. The top and bottom edges have some wear but are intact. The rear sleeve has general wear again, but nothing that is especially serious or unsightly.
 
 
Vinyl: VG
 
The Vinyl is in VG condition. The vinyl has numerous hairline marks, but the majority are light and wispy. There is a general amount of wear to the surfaces but no overly big or heavy looking marks.  It’s an average condition record but importantly it is an A1 B1 copy so an extremely early example of this amazing LP.
 
Matrix:  The matrix stamp is very feint on this LP but is as follows:
 
Side 1: K50012 A1
Side 2: K50012 B1
 
Labels: EX
 
The Labels are in EX condition, perfectly clean. When viewed under a strong halogen light a number of spindle lines can be seen.
 
Inner Sleeve:  Good+
The fragile green custom inner sleeve has seen better days but is free from any writing or stains. It has split on all 3 edges, one of which fully and there is general creasing around the edges as well.  Not the best of inners, but it’s still in one piece and all lyrics etc are fully legible.
 
Postage and Packing:
 
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers.  My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
