Due to recent fraudulent cases, I must insist any item that sells for more than A$100 must have insurance and registered mail - NO EXCEPTIONS. Overseas postage MUST have the value declared.

I grade strictly to U.K. Record Collector standard. Any discrepancies in conditions are at your risk. I am a honest seller and don't have time for frivolous arguments about conditions. Any questions- ASK BEFORE BIDDING.

Grading information:

I am a stickler for conditions and rules but not without good reason. I have been selling for 25 years and am becoming increasingly frustrated by people’s subjectiveness when it comes to condition. Please read these conditions and rules of sale carefully.

Grades: there are ONLY 7 grades I use!!!

Mint: unplayed, brand new. No wear whatsoever.

Excellent: Cover and inserts may have VERY SLIGHT wear and or creasing, but otherwise like or near new. Record may have some light spindle marks, one or two light marks or some very light surface noise, most only noticeable in between the tracks and on intro or outro, but will have NO loud pops, clicks, persistent surface noise etc...

Very good: Cover and contents may have slight creasing, ring wear, small writing or some other small defects that might be noticeable only when looking at them carefully but should not be noticeable on a quick glance. The spine and seams will be INTACT. Record will have some light surface marks and light surface noise/crackle throughout but no serious wear that would be distracting whilst the music is playing. One or two light pops or a few short persistent clicks here and there are ok.

In other words, records that have been well enjoyed, BUT also looked after, will fall into the category of VG. Most other collectors will use VG+ for this grade.

Good: the cover and contents will be suffering from a combination of defects that are more pronounced than a VG record. Any sleeves with a damaged spine or tears will be good at best. Any ringwear that makes writing unreadable will be good at best. A good sleeve will most likely have a small spine split, ringwear and writing. Some noticeable staining might be present. The record will play through fine however it will suffer from moderate surface noise and pops and clicks, OR will play mostly ok except for one or two persistent loud clicks. Labels will be marked from many spindle marks. Vinyl surface will be quite marked but not totally dull or damaged. The surface noise will not overpower the music.

This is probably the lowest grade a collector will accept for a record they are going to keep.

Fair: The sleeve is heavily marked or damaged but still mostly readable. The spine might be split.

The record will be still fully playable but will have surface noise at the same level or louder than the music. The vinyl surface will be heavily marked. May have moderate to heavy surface scratches, crackle, distortion etc...

Poor: The Cover and contents are very heavily damaged or partly missing.

The record will not play fully due to scratches or heavy surface wear. The parts that do play will suffer from heavy surface noise and/or distortion.

Bad: The cover will be only included for very rare items otherwise it would be thrown away. The record is unplayable and only good for a “filler” copy until another one comes along.

The only other grade I may sparingly use is NM. If in doubt, I under-grade rather than over grade or will say “between VG and EX”. I have had lots of recent feedback stating my grading is too strict however I always grade cautiously. You can buy with confidence.
