A great album - and one that reminds us that Quincy Jones never stopped loving the music of South America. Even when his name became inextricably linked with Michael Jackson’s greatest recordings, he remained enthusiastic about all things Latin. In 1989, at the time of his 40th anniversary in music, he claimed to have acquired the international rights to over five hundred songs by Brazilian writers, for Qwest Music Inc., his own publishing company. “It’s my personal passion,” he explained.
