Clearing out some records, so here is an extremely rare very 1st UK pressing of Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath on the Vertigo label, originally released Friday13 Feb 1970. Cat. no. VO 6 847 903 VTY Matrix no’s are: V O 6 1 Y * 1 420 12 12 V O 6 2 Y * 1 420 12 4
This album in its very first incarnation is very hard to get hold of now as it’s considered to be the very first Heavy Metal album. **Please read carefully and note the following if you intend to purchase** The vinyl has marks and fine lines and also a **pronounced warp** which I have done my best to show in the photos... BUT... it plays very well considering, with some light crackle and some clicks but no skips or jumps.  The labels are in good condition and denote a very first pressing as the text “A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT” appears under the Vertigo name. The gatefold lp cover also has the band members and production credits in capital letters, denoting a very first pressing. Also, there is the incorrect copyright notice: “Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings...” This was corrected in later reissues to “Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings...”. Ozzy Osbourne has also been misspelt as “Ossie Osborne” in the inner gatefold credits. The lp cover has some scuffs and ageing and handling wear, with some crease marks. It is still intact though. The inner sleeve is the original “swirl” inner though the inner sellophane lining is missing and there is what looks like small initials written in red pen on the bottom.  A chance to own a real rarity. Record will be sent in a strong mailer, 1st class signed for. Any questions, please ask. Thanks for looking.
