My Grading Scale for Vinyl EX:
Vinyl will
sound excellent from start to finish. May have one or two tiny
blemishes, but they will be INAUDIBLE. A few pops/hisses here and there
may be present, but overall your listening experience should be similar
to purchasing a brand new record.
VG+:
Record may have a few scuffs/hairlines but will otherwise look great.
Will sound great as well - no significant crackling or hissing to
distract
from enjoyment of playback on even the best equipment. If there are are
shorter passages with light crackling/hissing, I will do my best to note
them in the description. VG+ records should satisfy all but the most
sensitive audiophiles, and if you are concerned, feel free to message me
and I'll re-listen to the record and give you detailed play notes.
VG:
Record may have visible scratching/scuffing/blemishes. May have some
light
crackling/hissing during playback or a few audible pops. Record will
still be satisfactory for most buyers - a fine
daily player on all systems, perfect for parties or casual listening. If
you have a lower
end system and/or you don't mind a little crackling on playback, you'll
be fine with VG. If you do not want any noise on your recording, stick to EX or VG+.
VG-:
Record may have a few major scratches or audible crackling/hissing
during entire playback. If you're looking for a nice budget copy of a
great album, VG- is fine and it'll still probably sound decent on a low
end system with heavy tracking force. If you aren't picky at all and
just want to put the album on and listen to it, you'll enjoy a VG-
record.
G+: I'll generally only grade a
record G+ if there's something wrong with it, like a warp that makes the
first part of a song unplayable or something. If you're looking at a G+
record of mine, READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION.
