The Beatles  - Hard Days Night LP - Parlophone PMC 123

This is a very rare export copy from 1964. We have been advised by a number of independent Beatles experts that it is most likely that the record was made for British Dependent Territories or British military bases.

One expert suggests that it could have been destined for US military bases in Europe.

As the photos show, there are silver Parlophone labels without any EMI identification. The style and text details point to the record being pressed at roughly the time of the first UK press and it’s housed in a sleeve associated with the first pressing.

We’ve checked Discogs/Popsike and a number of other websites but we have not been able to find evidence of a similar item being offered for sale or any images other than the ones you see here.

Vinyl Condition: the vinyl has conservatively been graded as VG

There are some light hairline marks but none seem deep enough to feel. Play test reveals some pops at the beginning of Side 1/Track one but they subside when the main part of the music kicks in.  Some light crackle is evident in quieter parts of the music but there’s nothing overwhelming and certainly no skips or jumps.

Sleeve Condition

The sleeve has also been conservatively graded as VG

There are no rips or tears. There is some wear, which is commensurate with the age of the sleeve.

There is a little creasing to all four corners as can been seen in photos. There is some discolouring and ring wear evident on the rear. The name “DAWSON” has been written in red biro on the bottom left.

Please feel free to contact us with any queries. We’ve been selling records since the mid 1970s and our shop was established in 1982. We’re here to help if we can.

Update 21st September 2020.
We have had a number of queries asking about additional stamps / mother stamper ID in the run-out groove.
We can confirm that the only stamps in the run out area are those mentioned in the main description. There are no additional characters stamped, etched or scratched into the vinyl.
If you have further questions - fire away!
Thanks.
