The Dear Hunter's most Ambitious project to date, The Color Spectrum Complete Edition!
Comes with a 16 page Booklet and only 500 copies were made Worldwide! This is a true collectors item for any Dear Hunter fan. I'm quite sad to part with it but these are tough times I even put my copy of Second Stage Turbine Blade by Coheed and Cambria up for Auction today :'(
36 Songs spread across Nine 10" Records! Each record representing a different Color and the Songs' aesthetics matching the Color the song belongs to. Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, White.
This is the 2nd Pressing (and arguably the best sounding of the three pressings, which is why I purchased this one specifically. They're also the best looking as the discs are transparent (Except for Black and White).
These records sound absolutely fantastic. The sleeves are in flawless condition.
I purchased 10" Paper-lined Record Sleeves as well as 10" 3mil outer sleeves just for this collection to keep it safe. I also stored the records outside the box so when I listened I didn't have to strain the box. Regardless, this box did what most Color Spectrum boxes did and the paper started to separate from the cardboard on the back near the fold of the box. This is why for the third pressing they did away of with the flip top and made a box that the records just slide out of. Not as well protected but easier on the box. I have no doubt that you could use some glue to re-adhere the paper to the cardboard but I would do what I'm doing and store the records outside the box.
If requested I will ship the records in the paper sleeves and the plastic, wrapped in bubble and taped tight, outside the box itself with the actual paper sleeves and the booklet inside the box. The Paper sleeves are gorgeous (see auction pictures)
This box set has steadily increased in value since it was released in 2011. There's no talk of a re-press either. This was not pressed by Equal Vision or Cave & Canary, This was pressed by Triple Crown Records and so much goes into a re-press like this that I don't see it happening.
Thanks for stopping by!
