Deep Purple : Gillan/Glover’s Last – Live Osaka 29-6-73. Japanese import.

This unofficial double live album was released I seem to recall in the mid 1980’s?

Very significant gig...the title says it all

These were pressed and imported in very limited numbers and are now becoming increasingly hard to find.

When originally bought (new) was played at most 2 or 3 times, then filed away in their polythene sleeves on a shelf…only to now surface.

Visual inspection reveals disc in apparent excellent as new condition, deep glossy lustre. with no obvious significant flaws.

Please see the photos. My memory from when these were last played decades ago is that the overall audible quality is reasonable for an audience recording. I’m sure further searching of the internet will provide more details.

The original card sleeve is in good condition, minor creasing in each of the corners, as well as very minor scuffing  centre rear and front with  slight indentation from ring wear, but  only the very slightest loss of print finish. Otherwise sharp corners no splits.

Selling on behalf of my Dad (who supplied all the info) from his personal collection, from the olden days when he collected vinyl.

I aim to use recycled packaging when possible, but rest assure that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!

Important perspective info, please read….thanks 😊.

A few words about the vinyl grading.

I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.

Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection , (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.

As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.

Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).

The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!

When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old  fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up 😊).
