This is a lot of eleven vintage 1960s record sets in the Time-Life "The Story of Great Music" series, all of them at most gently used, with most of the records showing no signs of use whatsoever. Each record set has a theme and consists of four 45-rpm records, each one in a paper sleeve, a paper-cover booklet offering a wealth of photos and background information for the music on the records, a paper-cover "Listener's Guide to the Recordings" giving background information on every individual composition, and two heavy-duty cardboard slipcovers to contain the records and literature. Each set has all of this material (the listener's guide is combined with the larger booklet in the Baroque and Romantic Era sets), and records and all literature are in very good condition overall (most of them in even better condition), with the very few exceptions noted below. The outer slipcovers have visible wear from contact with other objects over the decades, most visibly along the edges, and especially in the corners; occasional minor streaks, scuffs, and discoloration of the slipcovers are also found, and the paper sleeves have only occasional minor wrinkles. I play-tested a few of the records on my Panasonic Technics record player, and each record played beautifully, with minimal noise. A list of record sets in this lot, along with additional condition data, is found below.
.) From the Renaissance (1967): One corner of the listener's guide was bumped, and all of its pages and covers have a wrinkle in that corner.
.) Age of Elegance (1968): The inner cardboard slipcover has a wrinkle.
.) The Baroque Era (1966): There is noticeable wear along the spine.
.) The Romantic Era (1966): Two of the four records were out of their paper sleeves (I put them back in), resulting in several VERY light scratches on both of these records from direct contact with one another. Both records play very well and have minimal noise--these two records contain Sides 3 & 6 and Sides 2 & 7. Also, the picture on the outer slipcover has several air bubbles.
.) The Opulent Era (1966): The bottom edge of the outer slipcover has a small 3/4" chip.
.) Age of Revolution (1966): The picture on the outer slipcover has a few small stains.
.) The Spanish Style (1967): The ivory-colored outer slipcover shows discoloration, especially around its edges, and the picture on the cover has air bubbles.
.) Slavic Traditions (1967): One record (Sides 4 & 5) has a minor smudge, with virtually no discernible effect upon playback. The front cover of the listener's guide also has wrinkles in its lower right corner.
.) Prelude to Modern Music (1966)
.) The Early Twentieth Century (1967): The outer slipcover has scrapes and nicks, and a minor stain along its edges, and there are a few small air bubbles on the picture on the front of the cover.
.) The Music of Today (1967): The outer sleeve has several minor nicks and scuffs, which are easy to see against the black color of the sleeve. The center label on the Side 6 record has a small portion of its surface lifted off due to having mildly stuck to the inside of its sleeve (the vinyl is unaffected).
