                                                              Record Rating categories

SS = Still Sealed - Shrink wrap has never been opened and record is in brand new condition- does not mean that there are no manufacturer defects once opened

M = Mint - Record has been opened but looks like it was never played - I never rate mint unless I can verify never played

NM = Near Mint - Record has very minor scuffs that will not affect play - Record looks almost new - vinyl is glossy and looks like played only a few times. This is usually my highest rating unless still sealed.

EX = Excellent - Close to NM except there may be a few more very light scratches and scuffs and/or may have a little more background noise

VG++ to VG+ = Very Good plus plus to Very Good plus - This is somewhat subjective but there will be more scratches and scuffs in this range and depending on how many I would rate higher or lower. These are listenable records that will satisfy most everyone and play well.

VG = Very Good - This is my lowest rating for an acceptable record. It will have some scratches and scuffs that are not bad but may cause background noise or pops. Record should play through with no skipping or bad distortion.

G= Good - This record will play but may have excessive noise and some distortion. Only used for a rare recording until better copy is found.

Fair to Poor - I never sell these and they should probably be thrown out

All ratings are visual based. I sometimes play albums and will note if so.

Covers can be seen better in the pictures and are generally rated as follows

SS = Still Sealed never opened

NM = This means an excellent sleeve like it was just out of or still in shrink wrap. I would describe any shortfalls.

EX = May or may not have shrink but still close to new. No labels or writing or split seams. Very little shelf wear.

VG+ = Some shelf wear may have minor writing or label, minor corner bumps, minor stains, etc.

VG = Significant shelf wear and minor seam splits or discoloration, labels, writing. Will just look worn.

G = Not a very good cover but it's there
