BACH 6 SONATAS AND PARTITAS FOR VIOLIN SOLO DGG SPLM 139-270-272 3 X lp.
Vinyl: This legendary, amazing performance by Szeryng has some qualifiers. Records one and three are first edition tulip pressings. Record two is a second pressing replacement. The two first pressings look near mint, no hairlines or scuffs of any kind, the second pressing looks ex. All three play clean and brilliantly in long passages but all three have the typical DGG flaw of sporadic surface noise. As there are no visible hairlines or scuffs I assume a professional cleaning can get the dust out of the grooves and improve the condition, but I cannot guarantee this. To be conservative I rank the mixed set VG+.
Box: VG-. Holds the records, but is broken at two corners. Bottom and inside of box is stained and torn.
Notes: Szeryng's version of the Bach sonatas and partitas is my personal favorite.
