Samurai Champloo was broadcast on TV in 2004. Directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, the film is an innovative visual and music work that "champlooed" elements of period drama and Hip Hop, captivating not only anime fans but also Hip Hop freaks, and is still highly regarded in Japan and abroad as a groundbreaking work at the time.

Director Watanabe, who is also known for his deep knowledge of music, selected the artists for this film: Nujabes, a rare trackmaker whose lo-fi Hip Hop rocked the scene and later created many followers in Japan and abroad; Five Deez, active since the 2000s; and solo artist He has also released an album produced by Nujabes, fat jon, remixes for many artists, and is a top runner in the club scene in Japan and abroad. TSUTCHIE has been leading the scene since the dawn of Japanese HipHop as a trackmaker.

The tracks created for their 'Samurai Champloo' album were released on four CDs in 2004 as 'Departure', 'masta', 'impression' and 'playlist', and were smash hits.

After 18 years, these four CDs are now released on analogue vinyl. Each title is the first analogue release.
