Up for an auction is the original and authentic 1st pressing factory sealed copy of The Doors’ 2nd studio album “Strange Days” released on September 25, 1967. The listing’s description should be started with the fact that under a strong light source you could slightly see the color of the inner sleeve located inside. This is the original gold-white Elektra Records company inner sleeve with Elektra logos and “1855 Broadway” address. The majority of copies of this issue come with a custom inner sleeve with a B&W photo of the band and lyrics. Only the “1st Day” pressing Mono copies came with the gold-white Elektra Records company inner sleeve. The Stereo banner located in the upper left-hand corner of this 1st print cover is covered with a rare rectangular “MONAURAL” sticker located underneath the factory shrink wrap. It was common for Elektra Records to apply these stickers to The Doors’ first album, but coming across a copy of “Strange Days” with a Monaural sticker is extremely rare. Outstanding copy in amazing Mint condition. The factory shrink wrap with original breathe holes is fully intact and doesn’t have any tears, missing pieces or splits. We’ve included in this listing the original 1st US issue of “The Doors Strange Days” songbook published by Nipper Music Company, Inc. in the beginning of 1968. This issue has a magnificent design and besides the notes and lyrics, contains many photos, including a large image of the band in the middle of the songbook which looks like a poster and could be framed.
