Original Apple Records promotional factory sealed copy of The Beatles “Yellow Submarine” with a “FREE” punch cover. Promotional cover variation with the “E” measuring four dots across and five down, which corresponds to the East Coast pressing (The West Coast, Los Angeles pressing contains the letter “E” measuring three dots across and six down). The 1st print cover contains the “©King Features Syndicate - Subafilms Ltd. 1968” copyright text on the left side on the front. The back cover doesn't have the Capitol Records and EMI Records logos under the black line at the bottom. The “Yellow Submarine” covers exist in four different hue variations as the printers were having a difficult time keeping the colors consistent. The mountain on which the band is standing may be light gray or very dark. The distinct shades are also easy to recognize if you look at the Blue Meanies as well as the snipping turtle turk above them in the lower right-hand corner of the front cover. This copy’s cover has a very rare hue variation having a very dark gray mountain. As a bonus to this insanely rare Apple Records promotional copy, we're including one of the rarest issues dedicated to the “Yellow Submarine” film. Original vintage August, 1968 issue of “EYE” magazine contains not only four pages with a screenplay segment, a review of the film, black and white and color photos, but also a giant 20” x 25” full color museum-size “Yellow Submarine Beatles & Blue Meanie” movie poster still attached to the magazine with the staples and perforation. Outstanding factory sealed promotional copy in Mint condition.
