Original pre-release promotional DJ radio station copy of The Velvet Underground’s 4th studio album released by Atlantic Records’ subsidiary Cotillion Records in November, 1970. This promotional copy belonged to the KCCS FM radio station located in Southern Colorado containing a large black “KCCS” rubber ink stamp on the Side 2 label. 1st print cardboard cover contains an orange round “PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE” sticker and a very rare “FEATURING LOU REED SD9034” white round hype sticker informing the buyer that Lou Reed had participated in the recording of the album. The back cover contains the “Printed in U.S.A.” text and "1841 Broadway, New York, New York, 10023” address at the bottom. The 1st pressing catalog number SD-9034 is indicated on the front and back cover, and on the spine. Promotional “Sample Copy Not For Sale” SD 9034 catalog number 2 ¾” pressing ring white labels with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address in the rim text. Promotional Columbia, Terre Haute, IN plant pressing with the very 1st -A1 / -A1 matrix numbers and the pressing plant’s “CTH” identifier. The full 1st matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 – ST – CTN 702029-1A CTH 1 T 1 2; Side 2 – ST – CTN 702030-1A CTH 1 T 1 2. The album comes with the original Cotillion Records inner sleeve. As a bonus, this promotional copy comes with a very rare original "The Return of The Velvet Underground"  December 10, 1970 The Village Voice 10¾" x 15¾" promo advert promoting the band's new album "Loaded".

The promotional cover is very clean and graded as Excellent Minus. It doesn't have any splits, writing, soiling, missing pieces or residue of any sort, just only some light shelf wear on the back. I grade the vinyl as Strong Very Good for Side 1 and Very Good Plus for Side 2. The glossy vinyl has some very light non-feelable surface hairlines as well as scuffs that don't affect the playback. The original Cotillion Records inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The vinyl sounds great onlyh having some very light occasional static that will most likely go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI machine. The original promotional advert is in amazing vintage condition.
