Original Columbia Records 1st US Stereo release with an insanely rare mislabeled pressing and matrix code combination of Miles Davis “Kind of Blue” released in August, 1959. The main identifier of the 1st pressing of this album is the mis-order of track on Side 2 label which indicates “Flamenco Sketches” as the first track and “All Blues” as the second one. The copies containing the misprint on the Side 2 label come across quite rarely, but finding a copy which would have the Side 2 misprint label on both sides is practically impossible. The misprint on these 6-Eye Columbia 2.75” deep groove pressing CS 8163 labels guarantees that this copy is the 1st pressing which was produced somewhere between August and November, 1959 when the misprint on the label was corrected. What makes this copy even more unique is the presence of -1AA / -1AA symmetrical pair combination of the matrix codes in the runout grooves of the vinyl pressed at the Columbia Records, Bridgeport, CT plant. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1: XSM47326-1AA HIV; Side 2: XSM47327-1AA HI. 1st misprint cover, just like the labels, has the mis-ordered tracks in addition to another misprint indicating “Adderly” as oppose to “Adderley” on the front and back. This copy comes with a rare “Stereo - Fidelity” clear plastic inner sleeve with the Columbia Records boxed logo.

The cover is in great Excellent condition. It's very clean and doesn't have any splits or wear. The top left corner has a slight push in. The paste over slick of the back cover doesn't have any writing or missing pieces, only having some light shelf wear in the spot with the photo. The rigid spine contains a fully readable text. The vinyl is graded as Very Good Plus due to having some light surface hairlines and marks as well as light scuffs. The vivid red labels are in stunning Near Mint Minus condition. They're very clean and are scuff- and wear-free. The original Columbia plastic inner sleeve is in Excellent vintage condition. The vinyl sounds great in general only having some very light occasional static and a series of light pops in the beginning of Side 1. Perhaps they will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, the static and pops also could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
