Up for auction is the 1st out of two United Artists instrumental single records released in June, 1964 which was recorded by George Martin and His Orchestra for “The Beatles A Hard Day’s Night” soundtrack. This issue’s picture sleeve design practically repeats the LP cover using the same black and white portrait photos of the band members and red background on the front. Therefore, it’s very often referred to as the “red” picture sleeve. The catalog number “UA 745” is located on the front cover above the photo of Lennon. The 2nd George Martin and His Orchestra UA 750 instrumental single record has a photo of the boys at an airport and blue background on its picture sleeve, commonly referred to as the “Blue Airport Sleeve”, which is also currently listed at our auction. Original 1st print “Made in U.S.A.” United Artists black labels with the “US 745” catalog number and “New York 19 N.Y.” address. The runout grooves contain the very early 1st matrix numbers: Side 1 (Ringo’s Theme (This Boy)) – ZTSP-92804-1D; Side 2 (And I Love Her) – ZTSP-92805-1A.

It's very hard to find a picture sleeve of this issue in such a great condition which is graded as somewhere between Excellent Plus and Near Mint Minus. The picture sleeve is very clean and doesn't have any splits, tears or missing pieces. The front and back side of the sleeve only have a minimal amount of light age scuffing with the back cover having two small and barely noticeable creases at the top. Aside from that, the picture sleeve is in stunning condition. The record is graded as Very Good Plus. It retains its beautiful factory gloss only having some light non-feelable surface marks and hairlines as well as some very light scuffs from the picture sleeve that don't affect the playback in any way. The labels are very clean and don't contain any spindle marks having just a few very light and small age scuffs. The record's audio is graded as Excellent. The vinyl plays amazing with some warm vivid Mono sound.
