Up for auction is a very early 1st US Mono pressing copy of The Beatles’ 1st studio album “Meet the Beatles!” released by Capitol Records on January 20, 1964. For 60 years, this copy has remained factory sealed. Finding a copy like this is incredibly hard. If you’re a collector than I’m sure you understand how hard it is to be parting ways with it. This factory sealed copy contains a 1st print cover with the dark brown “Beatles” title at the top which can be found on the very early copies pressed in January~February 1964. The back cover has one more identifier of the 1st pressing, which is the absent “George Martin” producer credit at the bottom left corner. The front cover still retains an original record store “Hi-Fi” sticker with the $1.59 price. The factory shrink wrap remains fully intact containing two breathe holes on each side of the album. When The Beatles released their 1st album in the early 1964, Capitol Records used a blue inner sleeve of royal blue color. It’s this inner sleeve that can be seen through the fully intact shrink wrap at the mouth of this copy’s cover. By the middle of the same year Capitol already replaced it with another inner sleeve of brighter blue color. Based on the RIAA 3 identifier located in the lower right-hand corner of the back cover, this copy represents the East Coast release pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Scranton, PA.

Marvelous Mint Minus example. The top right corner only has a very light ding as shown on the photos. Aside from that the album is in pristine condition.
