ORIGINAL 1st US APPLE RECORDS PRESSING FACTORY SEALED COPY
THE BEATLES ~ ABBEY ROAD (1969)
THE RAREST OF ALL COVER VARIATIONS VERSION 2 WITH A STREET ACCESS METAL LID AND “HER MAJESTY” TRACK
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Original very early 1st pressing factory sealed copy of The Beatles “Abbey Road” released by Apple Records on September 26, 1969. The rarest of all of the “Abbey Road” cover variations Version 2 with a part of a square metal street access lid on the front cover and "Her Majesty" track listed on the back cover. Guaranteed original 1st US pressing cover Version 2: Prior to the album going on sale, Capitol Records revised the credits on the back cover to list the "Her Majesty" track after "The End". By the time the new revised artwork was sent out, some covers had already been printed. Therefore, the cover listing with the "Her Majesty" track is much rarer than the covers without it. This is the rarest cover variation. The front cover has the exact features of the Version 1 cover, which shows a part of the square metal street access lid (cropped in the later version) near the bottom edge of the cover in the crosswalk stripe below where John's rear foot is. The top right corner of the back cover contains the Apple SO-383 catalog number, which is also indicated at the bottom of the spine. Original 1st issue Capitol Records SO-383 Stereo catalog number green Apple Records labels with the 'Manufactured By Apple Records. Inc.' rim print on the slice side of the label.
★
The album is in great Mint condition. The front cover has a small factory crease next to Ringo on the right and another one next to the Apple logo on the back cover. Perhaps, they aren't even worth including into the description considering that these insignificant factory creases are very often found on the covers of the "Abbey Road" album.
