451 DEGREES -- Same -- hard to find, original 1980 Canadian album. Very good and still largely-unknown late 70's AOR-Hard Rock LP from this short-lived Canadian band, loaded w/ strong melodies and crunching, stinging guitar. Lead guitarist and songwriter Dan Lowe was in legendary Canadian garage-psych outfit The 49th Parallel ("Close The Barn Door") -- terrific, eerie ballad "Santa Ana Winds" here has a real late 60's/early 70's psych-prog-acid rock vibe, builds slowly to wild Led Zeppelin-like climax, and ballsy, hard-driving cuts like "It's Alright" and "Fastest Guns In Town" are likewise very good. The band evolved out of early 70's hard rock groups Painter and Hammersmith; Lowe and band member Brad Steckel later formed Prototype. See photo for track listing. Cover: VG+, wear/abrasion at upper left spine, ring wear, wear at corners. Record: VG++, light surface mark on Side Two, overall very clean, on Intercan label, Canadian pressing.
