1981 UK VINYL 12” SINGLE IN M-/EX CONDITION + NUTTY BOYS COMIC

From my own personal collection, up for sale is this 12-inch single of 'The Return Of The Los Palmas 7' by Madness. It was released in 1981 on the Stiff Records label with catalogue number BUY-IT 108. This is another classic Madness single and one of my favourites. Also included on side 1 is 'My Girl' (recorded with Madness and The Prince), and on the flip side is 'That's The Way To Do It' and a live version of their interpretation of 'Swan Lake'. As with most 12" singles I have come across, the sound quality is excellent.

 

The single features a picture sleeve, and also included is a 'Nutty Boys' comic. The disc has been housed in its own soft polylined inner sleeve since purchase.

CONDITION:

Vinyl: Mint-: Labels clean, vinyl clean and glossy. Sound clarity is excellent and surface noise was minimal.

Cover: Excellent: Front cover has small tear near bottom-right corner, opposite corner is very slightly worn, back cover has a crease near open edge.

Comic: Excellent+: Just some minor wear to corners and tiny tear on front.

They have been looked after over the years, stored vertically and not tightly packed. My records have only been played on a good quality turntable & cartridge setup (currently Rega Planar 3 & Goldring G1020) which I believe will have helped to minimise play wear to the discs.

All records are graded visually (under strong artificial lighting) and audibly (by listening in full unless otherwise stated). I try to be as accurate as possible here (please read below for meaning of grading terms) but if you are  not satisfied with your purchase I do offer a full refund so please contact me before leaving feedback in this instance.

 

GRADING INFORMATION:

 

Records are graded according to UK Record Collector Magazine - with the addition of how I grade surface noise:

 

Plus (+) or minus (-) afterwards indicates slightly above or below the following grades.

 

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality, and surface noise is inaudible. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be graded as ‘Mint’.

 

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. There may be occasional light surface noise, but it is infrequent, The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

 

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Surface noise may be audible on most tracks, and always during quiet passages, but is not too overbearing. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
