Badlands was a short-lived super group founded by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist & keyboardist Jake E. Lee (who also co-founded Ratt), former Black Sabbath member Ray Gillen (lead vocals, harmonica) and drummer Eric Singer (Kiss, Alice Cooper).    Rounding out the foursome is bassist Greg Chaisson (Keel, Britton).

 

Killer metal and heavy AOR blues rock with awesome Robert-Plant-like vocals and impressive chops everywhere.    The band did manage to release a second, much weaker, album before splitting up a couple of years later, with a final release in 1999 (after Ray Gillen's death from AIDS) which was essentially a batch of lesser demos.

 

These guys had come together in the late 80's when metal was dying out, and when vinyl was on it's death bed, making this, their excellent debut LP, particularly tough to find on vinyl.
