The Doors have been avid supporters of Record Store Day with a wide array of unique releases through the years, which made them the perfect band to have the first title with a track list hand-picked by independent record store owners. THE DOORS - CURATED BY RECORD STORE DAY was released on 180-gram vinyl and included eight total tracks, with “Side A” featuring rare original mono versions of four classic studio tracks and” Side B” showcasing four legendary live performances. The release was mastered by Bruce Botnick, the band’s original engineer, and was limited to 7,500 individually numbered copies (of which practically all sold out immediately) . There are two variations of the artwork, each featuring a hand written track list by one of the surviving band members, John Densmore or Robby Krieger.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

 

(c)           The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

 

(d)          The record comes in a hi-grade MFSL PVC inner sleeve

 

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
