NM (Near Mint) : still sealed or played one or twice.

EX : (Excellent); has been played but has no scratches, minimal or no wear and plays without surface noise.

VG+ :  may have light surface scratches or a little wear, but plays nicely with only minimal surface noise and clicks.  Cover is still nice but with a little wear.

VG : "typical used record", a little wear, a few minor scratches but plays well.  Surface noise may be more present during soft passages.  Cover will have evident ring wear.

G : more wear and significant surface noise.  Cover will have more than one split or tear.
