Western Pops Orchestra Fistful of Dollars  Gail McKenna cover 1989 LP rare!

‘A Fistful of Dollars  -The Lure of the West’

Extremely rare 1989 LP by The Western Pops Orchestra, from 1989, which boasts a rare LP cover appearance by page 3 stunna Gail McKenna.

It’s a collection of respectful covers of spaghetti western classics such as Rawhide,The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Bonanza, High Noon , A Fistful of Dollars  , etc etc played very enjoyably by the Western Pops Orchestra, to what end, and for what purpose, I’m not entirely sure. 

Still, it’s much better than it has any right to be, and owes not a little to the Shadows/Ventures school of dreamy evocative guitar music suggestive of  vast panoramic prairies of the American West, etc, 

Aside from all this flummery, the cover star is the sainted Gail McKenna. Whilst Linda Lusardi and Jilly Johnson and their busty substances graced many a cheesy  covers LP in the 80s, this is the only such appearance for the Liverpudlian page 3 legend contemporary with her page 3 career, and, as such, stands as a super-rare one-off. Gail moodily brandishes a colt 45  and er… a fistful of dollars  in cowgirl pose on the striking cover.

There’s two dot indents in the top right corner, where an sticker has been, and the imprint of a biro price in the same area, and the outer perimeter has some scuff marks and wear in some places. 

the album itself is very rare (yet to make it to inclusion on discogs).

the vinyl is virtually unplayed and retains a full sheen .

I’ve had a bit of trouble with a return recently-I need to be clear that, if for any reason a buyer needs to return an item, the buyer pays the return postage, not me, otherwise I get stung for the original postage AND 2 or 3 times that if it’s returned from abroad. I try to be as clear as possible about the condition of an item, please take time to read the item description closely.

The photograph or scan  is the actual item. I avoid the e-bay stock photo system, as this doesn't represent the actual item for auction

If you win an auction and are a non UK resident please don’t be anxious if I don’t invoice immediately- it usually takes me a while to figure out the postage-

Items are very carefully packed and posted/shipped by the cheapest method, unless requested otherwise.

If your item gets lost in the post all I can provide is proof of posting and you have to claim the money from Royal Mail.

Outside the UK the only method of payment is paypal. If you are outside the UK and unable to pay by pay pal, please do not bid.

Should you win, I expect to be contacted within 3 days of the auction end.

The seller cannot be held responsible for any items lost by the postal systems used, therefore proof of posting is obtained for every item sent.

I would recommend items exceeding £34 that the purchaser asks for insured delivery methods.
