Over the next several months we have the pleasure of listing a spectacular vinyl collection of over 6000 LP's. This collection consisting of mostly Jazz but also Blues, Folk ,Rock, Soundtracks and Classical was kept in amazing condition. Most of the records were played once, transferred to tape for listening and then stored away in cliplock sealed bags in specially made cupboards. The overall condition of this collection is sublime to say the least and whatever items I list as Near Mint you can be assured that it was probaly only ever played once!! Over the last few weeks you may have noticed some of the lovely jazz & rock titles I have listed, these are just the tip of the iceberg here. I hope you enjoy seeing these listings as much as I have in offering them.

Some may prefer the more ambitious Troppo, but Home Stretch Blues from April 1972 could be Michael Garrick best album. The compositions & arrangements are focused and direct - yet full of twists, turns & nuances that only reveal themselves after several listens. Sections of this suite are jaw-droppingly beautiful. The small group line-up feature the brilliant usual suspects & the playing exemplary all round. Art Themen (sax), Henry Lowther (trumpet) & especially Norma Winstone (voice) sometimes get quite "free" and "out there" in their solos (this was the early 70s!) which might jar with the almost "down home blues" context, but it all fits together & makes sense once you get accustomed to it.

Tracks: Home stretch blues/ Sweet and low/ Epiphany/ Fire opal and blue poppies/ Fire opal: a) Retribution b) Wishbone/ Blue poppies: a) Limbo child.

There are no sign of spindle marks on label, there are three tiny black spots on A-side label. Record only played once, Archive condition. Record is Mint. Cover has the lightest scuffing on cornersand a few very light marks on back of cover, all seams are totally intact with no tearing at all. Cover is in Near Mint condition.
