Thanks for looking and good luck!!! This recording has an interesting history. It was initially recorded around 1959 (which would make it a tube recording).Since it was summer and players are often on vacation Maestro Rodzinski of the Royal Phil borrowed some players from the London Phil (common practise) and they recorded the Nutcracker. When the London Phil heard how spectacular it was they claimed it was their recording and filed suit requiring credit for it on the album because of their players. There were court proceedings and Mrs Rodzinski even testified that she took Maestro his lunch everyday to the Royal Phil. So this went on and it never got published until Sine Qua Non purchased it. It is THE BEST recording of the Nutcracker ever! I play it all year round. It is magical, it sparkles, and the percussion is breath-taking.I first bought a cassette of it in 1976 and have since come up with several unopened copies of the records just in case. First pressing was 1976,there were 2 later pressings.
