Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - Yellow Submarine' 1969 FIRST PRESS stereo vinyl LP!!
This particular pressing is considered to be RARE! It's a highly collectible first UK stereo pressing of Yellow Submarine. It has the ver first mother stampers on both sides and also features incredibly low mother stampers! This means it has to be one of the first 500-1000 ever pressed! It also features a FIRST PRESS flipback sleeve with the Red Lines on the back and NO PRINTERS CREDIT on the bottom flipback! Incredibly rare - DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
Artist: The Beatles
Title: Yellow Submarine
Catalogue Number: PCS 7070

Matrix Numbers: -1 -1
Mother Stampers: 1GO 1L
VERY EARLY MOTHER STAMPERS!
Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - it has been well-played and it has a lot of marks, scuffs and scratches on it...None of them are deep however! It definitely needs a clean. Currently rated as GOOD-. The label is EXCELLENT-. Side 2 - same as Side 1!
I recommend a deep clean! This could improve the overall sound and get rid of the background crackle!
Audio: I have play-tested Side 1 ONLY! I can confirm that there are NO SKIPS, NO JUMPS and NO STICKS on my system! It currently rates as GOOD-/GOOD. There is a heavy amount of crackle on the run-in. It continues throughout the rest of the album with some pops with an almost 'sweeping waving' sound. A deep clean would help this! The music is still very audible and I am shocked at how rich the bass is! Incredible tone! But the crackle is noticeable and can definitely be heard...I think it may be dust that is really deep in the grooves! If you have an expensive record cleaning machine then I reckon you could probably turn this into something a lot better. I doubt it is groove wear or damage as the side I play-tested played all the way through with full stereo sound without skips.
Sleeve: The original 'Red Lines' 1969 stereo flipback sleeve is in VERY GOOD-/VERY GOOD condition. The front of the sleeve has some ringwear and creases towards the edges. All the edges are fully intact! It has some discolouration but I think a clean would help. The rear of the sleeve has some staining in places and has discoloured towards the edges. The flipbacks are intact but discoloured. There is NO PRINTERS CREDIT on the sleeve - a clear indication to a genuine first press sleeve! The spine is 100% readable but discoloured and has been pinched towards the ends. There is no writing, graffiti or pen marks anywhere on the sleeve and it houses the record superbly!
PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!
GOOD Generally worth 10-15% of the Near Mint value. Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear.
As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record. Overall, a RARE Beatles stereo record that everyone wished they owned!
