This is a very good original pressing copy of the landmark debut LP by NYC proto-punk singer/songwriter Patti Smith, released in 1975. (For those into minutiae, the text in the runout grooves is "Mom+Dad AL-4066-SA STERLING [stamped] RL" (side 1) and "DADDY FRANK LINDA+TODD AL-4066-SB STERLING [stamped] RL" (side 2).) The laminated jacket has light ring, corner, and seam wear, and a few dings and creases -- EX(+). Visually, the disc has some small dings and stains on side 1, and a fair amount of scuffing and
hairline scrapes on both sides. I found only one problem spot at the start of side 1, track 3, however, which plays with several pops. Otherwise, the disc plays with modest surface noise and some crackling in some of the
quieter parts, and a stray pop here and there -- overall VG(+). The record comes with the original Arista label inner sleeve.
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed
over two decades. All discs have been
stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their sleeves. The sleeves have been stored in plastic
sleeves. Many records were purchased
new. Most were played just 1-2 times and
taped. I have visually graded discs except
where otherwise noted, and have tried to err on the side of caution when
imperfections are apparent.
If you'd like to
order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay
multiple shipping charges.
