Grading System:
VINYL RECORDS
M (mint)
Record is new, never played; cover is new, sometimes record is still sealed.
CD's
M (mint)CD is sealed or
it's impossible to tell the difference between the new and this one.
VINYL RECORDS
NM (near mint)
Record is like new, probably played a few times, but it doesn't affects the
quality of a sound; cover is almost perfect which means that only careful
looker may tell the difference between this and mint or new.
CD's
NM (near mint)Its hard to tell the difference between this one and new one.
Most people wouldn't mind if they buy such CD as new.
VINYL RECORDS
EXC (excellent)
Record in a great shape, may have light marks, played more than a few times but
there ain't no surface noise except if it's caused by low quality
of vinyl or recording; cover may be a little bent on corners or may have a very
light and tiny edgewears.
CD's
EXC (excellent)It was in someone's hands obviously, but there ain't no scratches. Cover may have light edgewears or some very light wrinkle.
VINYL RECORDS
EXC-(excellent-), there are some marks on the record, probably some very light ringwears or something similar, but nothing to affect the sound.
CD's
EXC-, it's somehwere between VG+ and EXC. Slightly more visible marks described on EXC, both on CD and cover.
VINYL RECORDS
VG+ (very good plus)
Record has been played more times, it has more marks. Surface noise is possible
in some cases, which depends on quality of recording and sensitivity of your
audio equipment. Cover could have a little fade in colour or more damage on the
corners or edges.
CD's
VG+ (very good plus)Marks are more visible here, possibly some lighter scratches. Of course, no affects on playing quality. Cover could be slightly wrinkled and worn or has some tiny writing.
VINYL RECORDS
VG (very good)
Record has been played many times, has surface noise, but it shouldn't
skip while playing; cover has more cuts on corners and edges and more fading in
colours.
CD's
VG (very good)CD doesn't looks good, but plays without skips or jumps. Cover is damaged with writing, it is pretty much worn, creased or wrinkled.
VINYL RECORDS
G (good)
Record or cover are in bad condition, this is worth only for archive items -
just to have something until you find better, but we still check such records
to be sure that they wouldn't skip. So generally, we use „GOOD“ for the records
with the stronger scratches, pulpable under finger, but I make sure that they
won't jump before listing them. So, no jumps on Thorens or Technics if they are
listed here.
Cover could be teared, even some smaller parts may be missing. Writings, stick tape, peelings and everything else that could happen to this cover through the years is possible.
