HERBIE HANCOCK - Mwandishi - WARNER BROTHERS WS 1898 (Test Pressing by COLUMBIA Record Productions) - This is an extremely rare record. Test Pressings are rare enough but this one is the jazz writer LEONARD FEATHER's copy, sent for review for DOWNBEAT magazine. The blank white cover has FEATHER's notes on the content of the record that appear to have been the notes he wrote while listening. They are very cool to read and offer a lot of insight. This LP also includes a 2-paged typed interview between FEATHER's and HANCOCK. The cover has the WB mailing sticker, A&R man WALT CALLOWAY's card and LEONARD FEATHER's extensive notes. There is a lot of staining and it is graded VG-. The vinyl is graded VG++.
