One of an outstanding collection of Classical rarities we have just had in, all nice clean originals from a retired reviewer.

Collection of three sealed New Old Stock 1981 Maria Callas recitals, and a fourth making these consecutively numbered as vols 1 -4 that I opened to check the quality of issue, and that it was not one of those american style sealed in the shop 2nd hand lps. Luckily on two fronts, it was a new unplayed lp, and still is, so I am sure the others will be also, and also, the shape of the label tells me this is a phonogram pressing, one of the largest presses in Europe back then, and the quality is uniformly high from them. The label type tallies perfectly with the sleeves date, so a new old stock collection of four separately issued lps of Callas in her prime, from the 1950s mainly, with exact dates and locations for each aria provided on the sleeve rears. Thirty six year old lps that you can hear for the first time, as if they came off the presses last week, a rare occurence for a set like this.
