The Apathy Band, the brainchild of the artist Bob and Roberta Smith, is an eclectic musical experience best described as an ‘experimental funk fusion spoken word’ album. At it’s root is arts advocacy. The LP is signed by Bob and Roberta Smith and Jessica Voorsanger.
The A side has Bob and Roberta Smith reading his widely shown text based work ‘Letter to Michael Gove’ where he highlights the concern about the pending state of Art Education by the actions of the then Secretary for Eduction Michael Gove.
The `B Side’ has the band performing. The Apathy Band has had many incarnations of performers. This album has Bob and Roberta Smith (vocals & drums), Jessica Voorsanger (vocals), George Lionel Barker (bass guitar), George Cleghorn (saxophone) and Calvin Tsai (on lead guitar) performing.
