Highly sought-after original Red label UK 7" issue of Please Please Me / Ask Me Why. 45-R 4983. On the label: 7XCE 17217 45 7XCE 17218 45 Stampers: A-side: 7XCE 17217 1N MPT B-side: 7XCE 17218 1N PT2
Disc plays well on both sides, nice and flat. A-side sounds excellent, no scratches or clicks. B-side sounds good with some surface noise but without spoiling the overall sound. A-side label in excellent condition, although the name Perry is handwritten above the title. B-side label in excellent condition, although again the handwritten Perry has been added. Also the remains of a small sticky label is evident over the catalogue number. The sleeve is fine, no tears, but has a two inch split along one side seam. However, this does not stop its function of housing the disc safely. 4814 has been handwritten in one corner, therefore although the sleeve is consistent with the era the record was released in, it is probably not the actual sleeve that relates to this particular disc.
